DOES THE MEDIA, BOTH PRINT, AND BROADCAST, REPORT FAIRLY? DOES IT EVER CROSS THE LINE BETWEEN REPORTING THE NEWS AND CREATING THE NEWS?
DOES THE MEDIA, BOTH PRINT, AND BROADCAST, REPORT FAIRLY? DOES IT EVER CROSS THE LINE BETWEEN REPORTING THE NEWS AND CREATING THE NEWS?
There are numerous people in the United States of America watching two different channels on television every day, and each channel provides a particular agenda in the order of what is shown and/or discussed. There is an aspect that is not mentioned or talked about that is also important and quite necessary to be seen. This is racism. People do talk about being racist but very rarely have evidence that this really happens in reality (“Racial Injustice”).
Racism can be traced back a long time ago to things like slavery and slavery-related problems. They are viewed as part of American history and people need to understand these facts before they can have any proper respect for others.
So, if someone talks about how people are not allowed to have slaves, it should be pointed out that it is more than likely because these slaves were not treated like humans (“The History of Racial Slavery”). If you are going to watch a channel showing these kinds of shows and then you see them later, you are probably going to feel bad at least in the short term.
On this note, I believe we need to change our society in several ways. First of all, we should educate ourselves more on such concepts as prejudice and discrimination. Second of all, society needs to start having more tolerance and communication with each and every one.
Last, we should make sure that young people are taught about this kind of stuff, too. With this, they will be able to open themselves up to others in the future, but they will be ready to face the challenges they might face in the world.
In the end, I would like to mention that not all people are good ones.
